What is the Bolton Care Record?

The Bolton Care Record is a computer system used in the NHS.

The implementation of the computer system is supported and run by Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group, which is an NHS body and part of NHS England. BCR is funded exclusively by the NHS and social care, and does not receive any commercial sponsorship of any kind.

BCR is a programme of work that is being delivered under Care4Bolton. Care4Bolton is an integrated team made up of professionals and clinicians from key stakeholders across key organisations in Bolton.

Who’s involved

Care4Bolton is an integrated team made up of professionals and clinicians across the following four organisations:

Greater Manchester Mental Health
  • NHS Bolton Clinical Commissioning Group
  • Bolton Council
  • Bolton NHS Foundation Trust
  • Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust

These organisations with other health and social care partners, as well as the voluntary and community services are developing new approaches of working together to improve patient outcomes.
